After School Activities Club Assistant (ASAC) Vacancy

Salary Type: Support Staff

Salary Details: Grade C, Steps 1 – 5 £4,084 – £4,456 approx (£17,224 – £18,794 FTE), pro-rata, 40 weeks per year

Hours of Work: 3.15 – 5.15pm, Monday-Friday, term time only for 10 hours per week

Job/Person Summary

The Governing Body are currently seeking to appoint an After School Activities Club Assistant to join our happy and friendly school as soon as possible. Working in partnership with our other After School Activities Club Assistant, the chosen candidate will be enthusiastic, reliable, punctual, calm and most importantly willing to have fun and enjoy working with children.

Duties will include:

* Supervising and providing after school care for our children aged from 4 to 11 years

* Engaging with the children in all aspects of play and conversation

* Preparing and serving snacks

* Escorting our younger children from their classrooms to the after school activities

* Administering simple first aid (training will be provided)

* Meeting and greeting parents and carers

* Being aware of health and safety to ensure a safe environment for all

* Recording children’s attendance

* Some cash handling

* Willing and able to cover the occasional absence of colleagues in our Before School Activities Club

The successful applicant will need to be:

* Able to communicate effectively with children

* Reliable, flexible, punctual and able to work as part of a team

* Consistent in promoting good behaviour and the values of the school

* Able to ensure the safety and welfare of our children at all times

* Willing to attend occasional extra training when required including training to gain a paediatric first aid qualification
